Simonds International announces the A-C-T Knife System
A-C-T Knife Overview The A-C-T Knife System is a patented replacement system for "disposable" knives. A-C-T knives can be sharpened, not just honed, between uses. A-C-T knives give you a new precision knife edge each run. The A-C-T index feature gives enhanced control over chip size and lumber finish. Built in control points allow control of the exact edge location providing, the means to obtain the best lumber finish and chip quality. A-C-T Knives also allow for cutting angles as conditions dictate. Importantly the A-C-T System not only provides improved performance, it helps control knife costs. By grinding the knife up to 15 times, mills use all the steel and only purchase one knife in the process. A-C-T knives can be sharpened on simple tub grinders, straight grinders, or planer knife grinding equipment.

A-C-T Knife Overview With the A-C-T System you can opt for affordable out-sourced resharpening or perform the sharpening in your own filing room. The A-C-T System is available in Babbitt form or Babbitt free form utilizing an innovative, Patent Pending insert with set screw adjustment. This form can be used with or without Babbitt to give even more control.

By using either the Babbitt system or the Patent Pending adjustable Accurate Positioning Insert version you are resetting the knife to its original position every run. The knife steel is traditional chipper steel allowing for hardness adjustments from Simonds International based on the species or season you are cutting.

The A-C-T System is versatile. It gives more control, reduces costs, produces more yield and is proven in all species and conditions in North America. Available for:
