Magnets & Magnetic Tools Offering the most diverse range of magnets available today

The expertise required to produce magnets and magnetic tooling of the highest quality is only acquired through years of metalworking experience. Simonds' experience dates back to World War I, when our Lockport NY Steel Mill first started rolling magnetic steel materials. In the mid-1930's, Simonds was instrumental in the development of Alnico magnetic material and continued to develop new magnetic steels through the '70's. Today, Simonds Strong-Mag magnets are respected for their true craftsmanship and consistent quality - Simonds hallmarks.

Strong-Mag magnets aim to satisfy diverse work holding needs with a wide array of magnets and magnetic tools which will overcome the common-place as well as the more unusual industrial applications and at the same time reduce operating costs. From simple Popular Range magnets for jigging and fixturing, through Welding Magnets and Magnetic Tools with the needs of the shop floor in mind, right through our range of Magnetic Lifters, we have the products that you need to make you more efficient and productive, while stressing safety.

And if you don't find what you want on these pages, contact us - we offer technical support and development to enable you to solve real-life problems.

Despite our long history, we are not standing still. We constantly monitor user requirements and react with new products that take magnets to a new level.

Note Regarding Pull Ratings - Pull ratings are only given on magnets where north and south poles are on the same plane (i.e. horseshoe, pot and power magnets). Pull ratings are based on using smooth, mild steel of the proper thickness where contact between the magnet and the steel is unimpeded (no "rough spots", etc.). Direct Pull is the amount of force required to pull a magnet straight up from a plate and Slide Force is the force required to slide a magnet off a plate (Slide Force is 20% of Direct Pull).
