Button magnets are cylindrical horseshoe-type magnets. The north and south poles are on the same plane and are separated by a slot gap. Button magnets are supplied with an untapped hole and are used primarily for attracting applications. Button magnets are good for use on rough surface because of their deeper flux field due to the horseshoe design.
