Body Files
Body Files are widely used in Automotive Assembly plants for metal finishing repair. Simonds Body Files are a precision hand cutting tool designed to cut or level off a metal surface. The thin metal and aluminum used to form the auto body is easily damaged or dented. Before painting all dents and deep scratches have to be removed. The Simonds Auto Body file best performs this task.

The type of repair will determine if a bent or a flat file is needed, and whether a fine or coarse cut file tooth pattern would be more effective.

Use Simonds flat body files for highlighting and repairing low areas.

Blended Round Corners:
The rounded radius blended edge are preferred by most file finishers today as they require less filing skills and have less tendency to cause scratches in the body finishing prior to panting.

Use Simonds finer cut body files for small pimples or other slightly high removal and for small areas where a bump-up procedure has been performed. Use Simonds coarse cut body files for repairs large enough to require a higher rate of metal removal.
